Bud Bushnell founded Genie Industries in the year 1966, after he bought the manufacturing rights to a material lift which operated on compressed air. The name Genie came from the "magic in the bottle" that was used to lower and raise the hoist. This mechanism greatly impressed a lot of clients and hence, the name was born.
Genie has moved into numerous new markets, since the demand for work platforms and lifts grew. Over time, as the requirements for new equipment to meet numerous applications grew, the company made itself recognized in numerous new markets. Like for instance, Genie went into making telehandlers, stick booms, articulated booms, light towers and man-lifts.
Genie decided to acquire a partner who held the same values as a result of the economic downturn during the beginning of the 2000s, when they partnered together with Terex. This company has a history obtaining machine manufacturers across the world who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold during the year 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
In the initial years after the sale, it was determined to maintain the Genie brand within the Terex Aerial Work Platforms or AWP segment of Terex, due to the name's solid reputation in the marketplace. Hence, all Genie machinery continue to be sold under the Genie brand name.
Genie takes pride in listening to their clients. The company is devoted to continually improving efficiency and quality and is also dedicated to lessening waste. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company concentrates on offering outstanding support. These are the very work practices which have made Genie a trusted brand over the past decades and continue to keep their reputation for quality and top-of-the-line machines.
Genie's DC and Bi-Energy machines are emission-free, quiet machines capable of working in delicate work settings. Where the machinery must be driven significant distances, like in industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the power of a diesel-powered generator with the advantages of a 48V DC machinery.
Telescopic booms offer greater horizontal reach, compared to any of the different aerial platforms. These machinery are ideal for small areas or limited access areas in all kinds of environments. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been engineered to provide utmost productivity. These machines provide supreme traction and the drive speed you require in order to travel around the job area and work site.
