The Carriage
Similar to conventional forklifts, the lifting attachment can be tilted from its horizontal position to forwards and backwards. The actual possible amount of tilt totally exceeds that of vertical mast forklifts. There are various kinds of lifting attachments available, and this ability to position makes them as efficient as possible.
Nearly all telehandlers have the capability of tilting to a position that is actually parallel to the ground. Several models have rotating carriages also. This enables the operator to adjust the lifting attachment radially. This translates to the load being able of being tilted backwards and forwards, as well as side to side.
Load Capacity
Telehandlers have a load capacity quite similar to that of the vertical mast model. The model's overall capacity would be dependent on things such as: boom extension and angle, whether the unit is lifting on outriggers or on rubber tires, and the amount of boom transaction deployed, if this is applicable. What's more, which lifting attachment plays a very important role, as does the wind, the grade the machine is operating on et cetera. All of these specifics could be changing constantly and this gives the operator much more information to take into account.
Telehandlers will often have several different load charts available to them, giving them a good reference they could use to determine a particular lift's load capacity. Depending on the configuration of the boom and the model in particular, the load capacity can differ by thousands of pounds all together.
