In order to be a successful unit, a forklift has to be strong enough to last in all working conditions for numerous hours of use. It should be able to move loads quickly and efficiently too. The machine must also be both ergonomically correct and comfortable for the operator.
The Yale powertrain is reliable and rugged. It needs to be powerful enough to always deliver incredible strength through its computer-managed engine and transmission. It provides state-of-the-art clutch packs along with extremely tough shafts and robust gears. The engine, transmission, drive and steer axle are all isolated to decrease both noise and vibration inside the compartment of the operator.
GM & Mazda Gas & LP Engines:
The GM Gas and Mazda LP Engines are made from cast-iron blocks for long life. These types of machines provide an electronically-controlled closed loop fuel system that requires minimum repair or adjustment. These engines also have hardened exhaust valve seats which minimize wear.
Cummins and Yanmar Diesel Engines:
Within the Cummins and Yanmar diesel engines, a high compression ratio provides excellent torque. Amazing fuel consumption is provided by effective fuel systems.
Standard Electronic Powershift Transmission:
The standard Electronic Powershift Transmission features gears that are 15 percent stronger and shafts that maximize resistance to rough driving. The durable clutch packs offer 3 times the life of previous packs. Lastly, there is available electronic inching which automatically adjusts in order to decrease maintenance needs by compensating for brake wear.
Techtronix Transmission:
This transmission system uses a computer-controlled power reversal which minimizes shock loading, increases durability and extends tire life. As well, the auto deceleration feature reduces break pedal usage and break wear.
Drive Axle:
Engineered for added strength, the drive axle features its full floating, brake drum mounting axle shaft and the pinion gears and strong ring. This specific component also has optional oil cooled wet disc brakes that are practically maintenance free and entirely sealed against contamination.
Steer Axle:
The Steer Axle features a "sandwich" design to be able to protect the steer cylinder from damage and debris. It has fixed-length tie rods to add extra stability and durability. The tapered roller bearings help to resist side-to-side and front to back forces. Additionally, cast ductile iron axle reduces wear and increases toughness.
Yale had made a lot of safety features and ergonomic features part of their standard packages. These kinds of machinery would handle tough environments, while keeping the operator comfortable and safe for the length of their shift.
