Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Walkie or Rider is a Motorized Pallet Truck that is essentially a motorized version of a pallet jack. They are available in both "Walkie" models and "Rider" versions.
Like what the name implies, the walkie type is designed for the operator to walk along with the unit as they transport cargo. The Rider model however, uses a small platform for which the operator stands on. The rider models are great for frequent transporting of cargo over extended distances within manufacturing operations and warehouses. They are highly fast and maneuverable.
It is not recommended to lift and move unstable or tall loads as there are no safety cages on these models. A rider could be the best answer if you are searching for a cheap way of transporting cargo from one place to another. If though, you must transport heavy loads short distances, and prefer to use a more employee-friendly unit rather than a pallet jack, the walkie model can be the best choice.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This machinery is particularly made for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This platform elevates both the load and the operator in an effort to facilitate manual unloading and loading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are typically very narrow aisle vehicles which can work in aisles of less than six feet. They are really handy pieces of equipment in cycle counting situations as well as during physical inventories. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, though models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are much more common.
