Propane cylinders are designed to take up really little space and could be kept inside the storage area or in an outdoor facility. It does take some time to switch out a propane cylinder, though, it still does need knowledge of safety standards like for example the Occupational Health and Safety Administration or OSHA and also requires operator training in order to be performed safely.

Compared to the electric truck, internal combustion lift trucks are easier and faster to refuel. Nevertheless, the IC engine does create polluting emissions and are really noisy.

NARROW-AISLE FORKLIFTS
The ITA's Class 2 trucks include a large range of electric lift trucks and these are specially designed to be utilized in narrow aisles. The typical storage aisles are 12 feet wide, and this easily enables a counterbalanced lift truck to turn in the aisle and put a load away. Usually, the very narrow aisles are approximately 5.5 to 6 feet wide, whereas narrow aisles are 8 feet wide. These narrow aisles require specialized forklifts which are capable of putting away cargo which are small enough to turn on a tight radius or without any turning at all.

The three most common narrow aisle lift trucks are the turret trucks, order pickers and reach trucks. The differences between these lift trucks are discussed below.

Narrow-Aisle Reach Forklifts
The original narrow-aisle lift truck is considered to be the traditional reach truck. These machinery do not need a big counterweight and are therefore, small enough to turn in narrow aisles. Instead, stability is provided by the outrigger arms which extend in front of the lift trucks. However, these outrigger arms could prevent the trucks from getting near enough to the storage rack to retrieve and deposit loads, depending on the storage configuration. To be able to overcome this situation, a pantograph was designed. The pantograph is actually a reach truck that is designed with a telescoping device. This allows forks to concisely and easily reach into storage areas.

The best environment for narrow aisle forklifts is a place that has good lighting, clean floors and good traffic flow, well-maintained floor, along with sufficient turning space.
These machines have revolutionized the material handling industry. Toyota stands behind their commitment to providing excellent quality and extremely durable machines. As the business evolves, they always strive to apply solutions so as to offer their diverse client base with the best available products.
